Beautify my Home Mondays Week 3 (4/25/11)

Hello Everyone!
I hope you were able to type your Monday Schedule and put it inside your Sheet protector and mark it off as you worked to Beatify your Home! I love it when I get to mark it off and see the end result and most of all, I love it when I realize that it didn't take me that long to complete it!
The Second thing I encouraged you to do was 27 things to give away and 27 things to throw away through out the week, did you do that? You've got to let me know??? Another thing...I would love it if you would join my blog! I know you are following me, now if you would just join it so I could know who you are it would be great!!!! I know you don't want me to beg right? right? Hahaha!

Now to this week's chores...Yay!!! We are going to tackle Mount Washmore! Yes, Laundry!
Most of us when we think of Laundry, dread the Mountain waiting for us in the Laundry room...unless you are Debbie, a wonderful lady and Pastor's wife from my church that just loves the smell of her clean laundry! Most of us are not Debbie and the mountain still awaits!
For many years I had a set Laundry day. Every Monday was my wash day and I would not stop until it was all done! Nothing else would get done, but my laundry. As each load would come out I would try to fold  and put away unless one of my kids needed my attention or a friend called me or life would get in the way, but nothing would stop me from finishing my laundry day. At the end of the day I was exhausted and most of my clean clothes was on top of my sofas and so it began my week. The next day my husband would wake up and would try to find his sox and shirt and ... you get the idea. I had kids and home school and life and the clean clothes would have to wait to be put away until I had the time or energy and so it was the end of Tuesday and Wednesday and... this was my life for many years. One day I received a tip. I was told to stop having a "Laundry day" and to start doing laundry every day so that I wouldn't be overwhelmed by my Mountain of clothes. I was shocked! Laundry every day? You must be crazy I said. Well, as I thought about it, it kind of made sense. If I made a load of laundry every day, it wouldn't be hard to fold and put away as well.
I've been doing this for a many years now and it works! I have also tried other systems and like everything else I come in contact with, I've twicked it and have made it my own. What I'm doing now is my own version, but a load a day is what started it all! Think about it, try it and see what works for you, specially if this is an area where you are struggling like I was.

My System Now

1. One load at a time

2. Wash-Dry-Fold-Hang-Put away
I won't start another load until I have completed this process with this load.
This keeps my clothes OFF the couch!

3.  Start another load and start with #1 all over again!

I still do a load or two a day!
